Our tax investigations team is headed by Dave Williams. Dave was a Tax Inspector for 14 years, and has more than 30 years' experience in enquiry work. 90% of his working life is devoted to tackling HM Revenue & Customs head-on, using a variety of techniques to get the best for his clients.

In providing assistance with investigations we can:

• give advice over the phone
• meet with you to review cases and discuss the way forward
• suggest which tactics would be most likely to succeed
• hold a workshop with you at which several cases could be discussed in a short amount of time
• draft correspondence for you to mount under your own letterhead
• support you at meetings with client / HM Revenue & Customs
• front the enquiry either as part of your organisation or as Francis Clark Tax Consultancy Limited
• advise on penalty mitigation (too often Inspectors impose excessive penalties)
• develop a strategy designed to avoid Inspectors going back anything like 20 years
• help you to maintain your relationship with your client which can be affected by a 20 year enquiry
